Russians were given the minimum contribution to pension insurance in 2026
The minimum voluntary contribution to pension insurance in 2026 will be 71,525.52 rubles. Alexandra Sytnik, Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Sales of the Russian State Pedagogical University, told about this on October 21.
Paying this amount while participating in the system for a full year allows a citizen to form one year of insurance experience and approximately 1.09 retirement points. The expert explained that such a measure is relevant for those who do not form pension rights through official employment, including for the self-employed.
To receive an old-age insurance pension on a general basis in Russia, you must have at least 15 years of experience and 30 individual pension coefficients. By itself, reaching retirement age does not guarantee payments, Sytnik stressed.
"At the same time, we are not talking about the possibility of retroactively paying for any missed years. In the year of entry into voluntary insurance, the billing period begins from the date of application, and contributions are calculated based on the duration of participation," the expert said in an interview with the newspaper.Ru».
According to her, the cost of one pension point in 2026 will amount to 156.76 rubles, and the fixed payment amount will be 9584.69 rubles. Thus, if there are 30 points, the calculation according to the general formula gives a pension in the amount of 14 287.49 rubles per month, before possible additional payments are taken into account.
In 2026, women born in 1967 and men born in 1962 will reach the generally established retirement age. They will be able to take a well-deserved rest at 59 and 64, respectively.
Ekaterina Medyakova, an expert at the Federal Methodological Center for Improving Financial Literacy of the Population of the IGSU Presidential Academy, reported on October 6 that from January 1, 2027, a mechanism will begin operating in Russia that will allow saving accumulated investment income on pension savings when the employer returns excessively transferred contributions. The innovation will affect contributions to a funded pension, including mandatory payments that were credited to citizens' accounts before 2013, and voluntary contributions from employers.
