Military pensions in Russia are planned to be indexed by 4% from October 1, 2026. This was announced on July 27 by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for public control and work with citizens' appeals.

"The military pension will be indexed by 4% starting from October 1, 2026. This parameter is fixed by the law on the federal budget for 2026-2028. I would like to note that 4% is a preliminary figure, the final figure may be announced in September 2026," Masharov said.

The expert stressed that if actual inflation exceeds the forecast by the end of the year, the government will be able to increase the indexation coefficient. However, he noted that indexing will happen automatically.

"The amount of the payment is not directly linked to inflation, but to an increase in the salaries of military personnel and employees of law enforcement agencies," concluded Masharov.
