Two tankers were stopped in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz due to an attempt to pass through an unauthorized route by Iran. This was announced on October 30 by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"Two tankers that violated the rules, one in the eastern and the other in the western part of the Strait of Hormuz, which intended to pass through an unauthorized route, got into an emergency situation and were stopped in the waters of the southern part of the strait," the press service wrote on the Telegram channel.

The IRGC stressed that the crews of the vessels deliberately disabled navigation and radar systems. In addition, the sailors ignored warnings from the Iranian navy. According to the military, the tankers operated with the support of the United States.

On the same day, a supertanker exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after colliding with a mine. It is specified that the supertanker was carrying more than 2 million barrels of oil. Currently, the ship is completely engulfed in fire and has lost steam at the entrance to the strait.
