The Ukrainian Armed Forces began to equip an underground command post under Konotop
Near Konotop in the Sumy region, engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are equipping a brigade-level command post, which is planned to be located deep underground. This was reported on October 22 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"Engineering units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are equipping a brigade-level command post near Konotop. The Ukrainian command plans to equip the checkpoint deep underground," the security forces told RIA Novosti.
According to the agency's interlocutors, the creation of the facility takes place against the background of the advance of the assault units of the North group of forces in the Sumy region. In this regard, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are allegedly strengthening defensive positions and equipping additional defense areas.
On October 16, the commander of the North group of forces said that the Russian army was advancing in the Sumy region in four directions, aiming at the city of Sumy. The commander clarified that during the summer and autumn period in the Kursk direction, Russian military personnel took control of 14 settlements and more than 300 square kilometers of the territory of the Sumy region.
