Military expert Knutov spoke about the fragmentation of the Volchansky boiler into parts

The armed forces of the Russian Federation split the Volchansk pocket into several parts, which were later penetrated by reconnaissance groups. This was announced on October 16 by military expert and political scientist Yuri Knutov.

Knutov noted that the territory of the pocket covered 450 square kilometers and 27 settlements, where up to 2,000 Ukrainian servicemen were stationed. Russian fighters gradually fragmented the grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) into several parts, after which small reconnaissance groups identified control points, positions of UAV operators and ammunition depots.

The expert stressed that the events were constantly monitored. Then artillery and aviation attacked the detected targets, followed by infantry.

"As a result, it was possible to clear not one, but several villages at once, because such an operation was carried out not in one village, but in several at once," Knutov said.

According to Knutov, the operation was successful due to this approach. He stressed that the enemy's losses were very high.

In addition, military expert Igor Nikulin noted the important role of dividing the boiler into several parts. He stressed that after the separation of the boiler, the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was severely disrupted. The expert stressed that the Volchansky boiler is a successful operation to create a buffer zone in the territory of the Kharkiv region.

"We can say that the border has already been moved back by several tens of kilometers, meaning that the possibility of infiltration by sabotage groups has been practically eliminated," Nikulin said.

On the same day, the Russian Army established full control over the Volchansk–Budarki highway, through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to lay logistics routes. According to the ministry, during the fighting, assault units provided adjustments for artillery strikes, and drone crews monitored the movement of Ukrainian equipment. The detected vehicles were destroyed before arriving at the positions, which made it possible to disrupt the delivery of ammunition and food.
