The Russian Interior Ministry named three main rules of digital hygiene
To use the Internet safely, it is necessary to limit the dissemination of personal information, understand the possibilities of digital services, and regularly update knowledge about cyber threats. This was announced on November 7 by the head of the Department for the organization of combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Philip Nemov.
"The main topic should be where and how you leave your personal data. As you know, personal data is not only a phone number, account, mail, but also everything that concerns your identity, from which you can be identified," TASS quoted a representative of the department as saying.
According to Nemov, first of all, users should pay more attention to the information they transmit to various Internet resources. The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs called knowledge of the principles of operation of Internet services an important condition for digital security. He explained that users should take into account not only the basic functions of the tools used, but also additional ones, including hidden features. Understanding the features of digital platforms allows for a more informed approach to their use.
Finally, Nemov called for constantly raising awareness of cybersecurity issues. He noted that the methods of attacks and the nature of threats change over time, so previously acquired knowledge may not be enough. Users need to keep an eye on the development of technology and the emergence of new methods of cybercrime.
At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that these recommendations do not exhaust all the rules of digital hygiene, but cover the most important areas of protection on the Internet.
Russian Deputy Minister of Health Vadim Vankov said on October 25 that Russians should follow the rules of digital hygiene and be careful about transferring medical information to other people. He stressed that this rule applies to any personal information, including medical information. According to Vankov, patient data protection methods are constantly being improved, and the Ministry of Health continues to work in this direction.
