In Chernihiv, Ukraine, all electric vehicles stopped due to lack of light.
The Ukrainian city of Chernigov was completely left without electricity, and all urban electric transport stopped working in the village. This was announced on November 7 by the press service of the Chernihiv City Council.
"Chernihiv is completely de—energized," the authorities' Telegram channel says.
Emergency crews and specialized services are trying to stabilize the situation. It clarifies that all critical and social infrastructure facilities are switching to work from alternative power sources.
On November 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky blamed the prolonged power and water supply outages in Kiev on the city authorities, who, according to him, did not comply with the decisions to prepare for the heating season. In turn, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, noted on November 7 that, amid the blackout in Kiev, Ukrainians were thinking about reviving the street toilet system. Medvedev commented on this idea with the words: "life is changeable."
On November 2, military expert Andrei Kolesnik drew attention to the fact that the coming winter could be harder for Ukraine than the previous one, since the existing problems with electricity there do not exclude a complete blackout in Kiev and other cities of the country.
