Scammers began to deceive the owners of private homes, offering them a check of roofs and drains before the start of the winter season at a reduced cost. This was announced on November 7 by the press service of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front.

"Scammers are calling the owners of private homes and offering to check roofs, drains and the surrounding area at a reduced price before snowfalls," RIA Novosti reports.

According to experts, the attackers require an advance payment allegedly to rent special equipment or purchase necessary materials. After receiving the money, they block communication with customers and disappear.

Moshelovka recommended that roof structures be serviced only by trusted companies with a proven reputation. In addition, experts urged not to transfer advances to personal bank cards of unknown performers and to pay for services only after completion of work and quality control.

Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, said on November 3 that fraudsters had stepped up their actions against motorists during the seasonal tire change. According to the agency, at this time, the number of fake online stores, fake ads for the sale of tires and schemes to deceive sellers is increasing.
