Russian sculptor and artist Mikhail Shemyakin has been added to the database of the Ukrainian extremist website Peacemaker. This was confirmed on November 6 by data from the website.

The reason for the inclusion of the artist in the blacklist was his position on the status of Crimea. Shemyakin supported the reunification of the peninsula with Russia. In addition, the sculptor criticized Kiev's policy of eradicating Russian culture in Ukraine.

Mikhail Shemyakin is a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of Kabardino-Balkaria and Adygea. Among his most famous works are the monument to Peter I in the Peter and Paul Fortress and the sculptural composition "Children — victims of adult vices" in Moscow.

In 1971, he emigrated and lived and worked for a long time in France and the USA. Despite the move, Shemyakin maintained an active presence in the Russian cultural field, implementing large-scale artistic and educational projects.

Russian film director and screenwriter Sergey Debizhev was also included in the Peacemaker database. According to the compiler of the list, Debizhev openly supported the Russian Federation, participated in actions aimed at glorifying Russian military personnel, and allegedly violated the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The reason for Debizhev's entry into the database was his work in 2023 as a member of the film crew of a film dedicated to the events in Donbass.
