Reuters has learned about Mikhail Andropov, who reported bombs on flights

The editorial offices of several European media outlets received emails from a man who introduced himself as Mikhail Andropov and claimed responsibility for a series of false reports about the mining of passenger planes. This was reported on November 6 by the Reuters news agency.

According to the agency, the letters were received by the Bulgarian Nova TV channel and the Irish broadcasting company RTE. The messages contained threats of attacks on vehicles in different European countries.

Reuters clarifies that it has not yet been possible to identify the sender of the letters and their connection with threats against flights. According to media reports, no explosive devices were found on the affected flights, and all planes landed safely.
