Netflix has announced the creation of a prequel to the series "Stranger Things" called Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure. The streaming service announced this on November 6 on the website.

Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Stranger Things

We've been dreaming about the movie "Other Worlds: Adventures in the Style of Stranger Things" for many years, and seeing it become reality is incredible and exciting. It's "Very Strange Cases," but it's incredibly fresh, with a new setting, new heroes and villains.

The new story takes viewers back to the 1950s, several decades before the events at Hawkins. Although the plot will be connected to the universe, the audience is waiting for new characters, heroes and villains. The action will take place before the events of the theatrical production Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which tells about Henry Creel's past in 1959. According to the creators, the project will explore new sides of this story and expand the mythology of the franchise.

The creators of the original series, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, as well as screenwriter Kate Treffry, who will become a co—creator of the project and showrunner, are working on the series. She also participated in the work on the play The First Shadow. The first three episodes will be directed by Joe Wright, known for the films "Pride and Prejudice" and "Atonement." Filming will take place in New Mexico. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2028.

The original "Stranger Things" ended with a fifth season. The first season premiered in 2016. The final episode was released on Netflix on December 31, 2025 in the United States and on January 1, 2026 in several other countries.

On October 28, Medialogia presented the Russian series rating for September of this year. The series "Cold" became the leader of the month. The project scored 2,876 points. Marik is on the second line of the rating with 1,535 points. In third place was the project "It's hard to be a God" based on the story of the Strugatsky brothers, which scored 1151 points. The top five also included the Russian TV series "Sled" (1134 points) and the anime "Magic Battle" (905 points).
