Democrats asked Musk to keep documents about the deceleration of Starshield in Ukraine

Members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee from the Democratic Party have sent a letter to businessman Ilon Musk demanding that he not destroy documents related to the slowdown of the Starshield system in Ukraine. This was reported on November 5 by CNN.

Manu Raju, the TV channel's senior congressional correspondent, said that the demand was made in connection with the upcoming investigations into the activities of the administration of US President Donald Trump. According to him, they will begin in January next year, when both houses of Congress will come under the control of the Democrats.

CNN, citing Thomas Massey, a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, reported on the same day that representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties in the US House of Representatives intend to initiate impeachment proceedings against Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth. According to media sources, the dissatisfaction with the head of the Pentagon is related to his position on the military conflict with Iran.

The course of the Congress: how Democrats can change US foreign policy

The new majority intends to reconsider assistance to Kiev, support for Israel and control over military operations.

The US Democratic Party won a major victory in the midterm elections on November 3, gaining control of both houses of Congress. Democrats took away at least seven Senate seats from Republicans, including in Texas, Kansas, Iowa and South Carolina, which traditionally supported Republicans. On November 4, US President Donald Trump admitted that the defeat of the Republican Party in the midterm congressional elections could be related to the war against Iran and the increase in fuel prices caused by it.

On November 4, Reuters reported that the Democrats, after gaining control of both houses of the US Congress, intend to review a number of areas of the country's foreign policy and limit Trump's capabilities. For example, the party expects to achieve the allocation of new aid to Ukraine.
