The Russian drug Angipur, which is being developed for use in myocardial infarction and coronary artery surgery, may appear on the market within one to two years. This was announced on November 5 by one of its creators, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Volgograd State Medical University, Doctor of Pharmacy Viktor Sirotenko.

"The drug is currently undergoing the final, third, phase of clinical trials, which assesses its effectiveness and safety in a large number of patients in several medical centers. Since the third phase is nearing completion, we hope that within the next year or two the drug will be able to enter the market," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the drug belongs to antiplatelet agents that prevent platelet bonding and blood clots formation. It is planned to be used, among other things, in the installation of stents to restore blood flow in the coronary arteries. At the same time, the drug has been created for about 10 years.

According to Sirotenko, the development should replace imported medicines, which are difficult to supply to Russia. The full production cycle is provided within the country: from the synthesis of the active substance to the manufacture of the finished product.

As the scientist explained, the release does not depend on foreign substances, equipment and consumables. According to Sirotenko, the preliminary results also indicate a potentially lower risk of bleeding, one of the main complications of antiplatelet therapy.

In September, Andrey Kokin, a cardiologist, PhD, spoke about the first signs of a heart attack. According to him, a characteristic sign of a heart attack is a pressing, squeezing or burning pain behind the sternum, which can radiate to the arm, shoulder, back, neck, jaw or upper abdomen. Shortness of breath, weakness, cold sweat, nausea and dizziness are also possible. At the same time, women, the elderly, and patients with diabetes may have mild or no pain.
