On November 4, American entrepreneur Elon Musk joked that his "space lasers" for interfering in the US congressional elections did not work.

"It looks like my cosmic lasers for election interference didn't work this time," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

On October 23, Bloomberg reported that Musk had allocated $445 million to support the Republican Party in the election cycle before the midterm elections to the US Congress. Thus, he became one of the largest investors of such organizations in history.

Bloomberg this morning published a forecast according to which the Democratic Party will gain a majority in both houses of the American Congress based on the results of the midterm elections. According to the publication, they can take at least 223 seats in the House of Representatives and 54 in the Senate. The Republican Party is projected to have 126 seats in the House of Representatives and 41 in the Senate.

US President Donald Trump, in turn, attributed the Republican defeat to rising gasoline prices amid the military conflict with Iran. At the same time, he did not dispute the validity of the elections and spoke positively about the upcoming cooperation with the Democrats.
