Russians have been given the opportunity to change their mobile operator while maintaining their phone number through the Gosuslugi portal. The new service allows you to apply online without visiting a communication salon. This was announced on November 3 by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

"The application will automatically be sent to an independent database operator of the transferred numbers, who will check for compliance with the transfer conditions. The previously existing ways of applying for a number transfer — on the website or at the operator's office — remain," the Maks messenger says.

To use the service, you need to log into your personal account at Gosuslugi, open the Profile section, go to the Sim cards subsection, select the desired number and click "Change operator". After that, all that remains is to fill out and send the application.

If the verification is successful, the new operator will offer to choose a tariff and a way to conclude the contract. It will be possible to sign it at the communication salon or remotely, including through the Gosklyuch application. After signing the contract, the subscriber will be given a SIM card with the same number. At the same time, the old ways of switching to another operator — through their website or office — are also preserved.

On October 14, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation asked telecom operators not to impose restrictions on incoming calls from banks that have not been marked until early November. The ministry explained that the postponement will allow completing negotiations between credit institutions and telecom operators, as well as concluding the necessary agreements on labeling calls. Most financial institutions have already concluded relevant agreements.
