Lavrov pointed to the West's desire to set its own rules in Eurasia.
The West seeks to impose its own rules on the entire territory of Eurasia, while there they hardly accept the changed realities and shy away from dialogue. This was stated on November 3 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at the IV Minsk Conference.
"They just don't want to lose face anymore and are having a hard time realizing the new realities and don't want any dialogue on Eurasian issues yet, meaning to seek a balance of interests so that everyone who lives in Eurasia feels protected," he said.
According to the head of the foreign Ministry, the Western plan to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia at the hands of the Kiev regime has failed. That is why the opponents avoid negotiations on the creation of a system of equal security on the continent. Lavrov stressed that there is a large-scale diplomatic work to be done in this direction, but it will be inextricably linked to real actions on the ground.
The Minister also pointed out that the participants of the Minsk Conference are interested in ending the Ukrainian crisis as soon as possible on a fair basis. In his opinion, this implies, first of all, the elimination of the root causes of the conflict unleashed by the West against Russia.
On October 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) advocate a multipolar world order with the central role of the United Nations. He also noted that the CIS countries have built a coordinated system to counter economic crimes and corruption, and are jointly fighting terrorism, extremism, organized crime and the criminal use of digital technologies.
In May, Putin stated that the principles of the emerging multipolar architecture should be based on the norms of the UN Charter and the concept of indivisible security. According to him, a multipolar world must rely on generally accepted international rules.
