A resident of the Saratov region was sentenced to 13 years in prison for espionage and aiding the Ukrainian special services in terrorist activities. This was announced on November 3 by the press service of the regional directorate of the FSB of Russia (UFSB).

"The FSB of Russia in the Saratov Region has identified and suppressed the illegal activities of a Russian citizen involved in committing high treason and carrying out terrorist activities," TASS quoted the agency as saying.

According to the agency, the woman acted on the instructions of a foreign intelligence service. She collected information about the places of residence of high-ranking Russian military personnel and a critical transport infrastructure facility in the Saratov region. FSB officers detained her while carrying out another task.

The First Western District Military Court found the Russian woman guilty under art. 275 ("High treason") and art. 205.1 ("Assistance to terrorist activities"). In addition to 13 years in prison, she was fined 200 thousand rubles and a year of restriction of freedom after her release. The FSB clarified that the defendant fully admitted her guilt and repented.

On November 2, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced a resident of Moscow, who holds Russian and Moldovan citizenship, in a case of high treason. According to the court, the woman collaborated confidentially with the Main Directorate of Counterintelligence of the Moldovan Information and Security Service, knowing that it was acting in the interests of the Security Service of Ukraine against the Russian Armed Forces. The woman was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
