- Lukashenko assigned Trump the role of the savior of the world from the third World War
By his actions, US President Donald Trump is deterring the threat of a third world war, which could escalate into a nuclear conflict. This was announced by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on November 3.
"With his actions, even if contradictory, Trump is essentially keeping the world from World War III, which could break out in a nuclear format. And you can't hide from it across the ocean," he said at the IV Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.
The Belarusian leader attributed the growing international tension to the struggle for resources and irresponsible competition. He cited Venezuela, Iran and Cuba as examples. Lukashenko noted that Trump's policy provokes reasonable criticism, however, the American president, in his assessment, helps to restrain further escalation.
The development of the conflict in Ukraine is particularly dangerous, which, as the Belarusian leader warned, could lead to a world war with the use of nuclear weapons. He also called for an end to the fighting and for negotiations, stressing that the parties would still have to come to an agreement.
On October 2, Lukashenko called himself a fan of Trump's policies, despite the fact that he often openly criticizes his colleague from the United States. Addressing the heads of government delegations, the head of Belarus stressed that he was grateful to Trump for "exposing the policy of the West, primarily the United States."
