Since February 2022, more than 9,000 Russian civilians have been killed and about 27,000 more injured as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on November 3 by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.

"The total number of victims from the actions of the Ukrainian punishers since February 2022 has already come close to 37 thousand injured civilians, of whom 9213 people died," the diplomat said at a briefing.

According to him, in the third quarter of 2026 alone, about 5,000 civilians suffered from the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, of which 631 people died. Miroshnik also said that from July to September, the Ukrainian military fired about 102,000 rounds of ammunition at civilian targets in Russia.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on September 6 that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was taking orders to commit terrorist attacks and had already surpassed terrorist Osama bin Laden, becoming a direct threat to the entire world. She also called the functioning of the current authorities in Kiev a kind of business model that is directly related to the export of international terrorism.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov added on September 29 that European states were actually waging a war against Russia. The diplomat pointed to military assistance to Kiev from the United Kingdom and the countries of continental Europe. According to him, missiles and drones supplied to Ukraine are being used against Russia, and the Russian military is destroying these weapons.
