Trump called the $30 billion cost of the war with Iran negligible.
On November 3, US President Donald Trump admitted that his country had spent $30 billion on the war with Iran, but called the amount negligible compared to the money earned from the coup in Venezuela.
"We have spent $30 billion on this war with Iran. But this is an insignificant amount, because we earned the same amount and even more only in Venezuela," he said in an interview with Fox News channel.
The American leader, commenting on the conduct of military operations in the Islamic Republic, called them a "wonderful period" in which his administration managed to achieve "better performance."
He stressed that the operations in Iran and Venezuela allowed the White House to attract hundreds of billions of dollars to the United States. The American leader added that his country had also managed to do "a lot of things."
Meanwhile, on October 28, The New York Times, citing data from the Pentagon, learned that the true US military spending on the conflict with Iran has already amounted to $ 47.1 billion, with more than 60% of this amount accounted for ammunition and weapons. The publication clarified that Trump and Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth have requested up to $70 billion in additional funding for the war.
The day before, the US president called what was happening in the Islamic Republic one of his greatest decisions. He explained that the short-term difficulties caused by the conflict are needed for the sake of long-term benefits. He also announced an alleged imminent drop in gasoline prices and an increase in supply.
