In Moscow, a 42-year-old local resident became the victim of a major fraud after chatting on a dating app. According to Izvestia, the attacker stole 7.8 million rubles from the victim, after which he confessed to what he had done.

The woman met a man named Ivan in the service (name changed). During the conversation, the interlocutor offered her a scheme for making money on stock transactions. Following his recommendations, the Muscovite woman created a crypto wallet and transferred a large amount of money to it.

Some time later, an acquaintance contacted the woman on the phone. During the conversation, he openly stated that he had deceived her and confessed to stealing the funds. The man stressed that he would not be able to return the stolen millions.

After the recognition of the attacker, the victim filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. Police officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the identity of the suspect.

In August, in the Irkutsk region, a 59-year-old woman confided in an interlocutor from a dating site. She transferred more than 1 million rubles to outside accounts.
