A resident of Primorye died due to prolonged smoking of vapes
In Primorsky Krai, a 33-year-old man died due to prolonged use of vapes. This was reported on October 31 in the regional Ministry of Health.
It is specified that a resident of the village of Kavalerovo turned to a local polyclinic with complaints of shortness of breath and a sharp deterioration in well-being. The patient was hospitalized with bilateral pneumonia. During the examination, he was also diagnosed with disseminated tuberculosis and pulmonary fibrosis. It is known that the man had been smoking e-cigarettes for 17 years.
"Despite all the efforts of the doctors <...> the condition was getting worse. Against the background of prolonged intoxication with inhalation chemicals (vapes, hookahs with a mixture of tobacco and synthetic flavors) he developed acute leukemia in a very short period of time," the Telegram channel says.
The patient's condition was rapidly deteriorating, and he was transferred to the intensive care unit due to increasing severe respiratory failure. He later died. Experts emphasized that the use of electronic cigarettes undermines the local immunity of the lungs.
In September, in the Perm Region, a schoolgirl was hospitalized from lessons with signs of vaping poisoning. It was noted that a 15-year-old girl from the village of Prikamsky bought an electronic cigarette through a Telegram channel. During school, the student became ill: she showed signs of an epileptic seizure.
