The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, found herself in an awkward situation during a public event in Canada, although she could resolve the hitch with one calm phrase. This is how profiler and political scientist Ruslan Pankratov assessed the incident on October 30.

It is important for the head of European diplomacy to be able to take a pause, assess the situation and prevent technical issues from escalating into public disputes, the expert emphasized in an interview with aif.ru According to Pankratov, Kallas was unable to cope with a small organizational problem and allowed it to affect the impression of her performance.

"If <...> a scene occurs in which the host tries to end the meeting, the guest objects, and the other participant explains the situation with a timer, this is no longer the image of a confident head of diplomacy," the profiler noted.

On October 29, Callas refused to end a public discussion with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand in Montreal after several hints from the moderator. About 40 minutes after the start of the conversation, political scientist Frederic Meran turned to the interlocutors, noting that "in five minutes" it was time for the interlocutors to leave. Callas reacted with a surprised look and an objection.
