According to the newspaper, Khachaturian canceled several scheduled meetings and trips. In particular, the president reduced his participation in COP17 events, attending only the opening ceremony and another event at which he delivered a speech.
Sources also claim that the Armenian leader has rarely appeared at the presidential residence lately. Khachaturian has been experiencing health problems for a long time, and recently others began to notice changes in his appearance.
In addition, on October 28, the President did not attend the ceremony of awarding The Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development for 2025. On August 25, former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, accompanied by members of the National Security Service, was taken to the hospital. Doctors took the politician away from the territory of the Anti-Corruption Court, where Kocharyan and his son Sedrak Kocharyan were being interrogated by the Anti-Corruption Committee after their detention.
Security forces searched Levon Kocharyan's house on the morning of August 25. Later it became known about the detention of the ex-president himself and his eldest son Sedrak. The Anti-Corruption Committee reported conducting searches and other investigative actions at several dozen addresses in the framework of a criminal case on corruption.
