The Inspector General of the US Department of Defense, Platt Moring, refused to investigate disruptions in the operation of the Starlink and Starshield satellite systems in Ukraine at the request of a group of senators. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on October 29.

"A group of senators from both parties has asked the Pentagon Inspector General to investigate after Ukrainian officials reported a decrease in the speed of their connection to the Starlink service developed by Musk and its military version of Starshield this month," the agency reported.

In an official response, Moring indicated that the U.S. Air Force would be better able to answer lawmakers' questions. The senators interpreted this decision as the Pentagon's unwillingness to investigate the activities of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, she said."Газета.ги ".

Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis said on October 25 that restoring the Starlink satellite terminals for Ukraine would not save the Kiev authorities from defeat in the conflict with Russia. According to the military, Kiev is doomed to defeat from exhaustion. The expert stressed that continued denial of this fact would lead to the senseless deaths of many Ukrainians.

On October 24, Musk announced a violation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the terms of use of Starlink. According to him, the Ukrainian militants used it for offensive drone strikes. He admitted that the Ukrainian front line "would have collapsed immediately" if Starlink had been turned off.
