Tsivilev pointed out the need for energy justice in relation to Africa
African countries are acutely aware of the problem of energy injustice and strive for equal cooperation. This was stated to Izvestia on October 28 by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev on the sidelines of the Russia—Africa forum.
The head of the Ministry of Energy told how a representative of one of the African countries explained the need for changes in the industry.
"We've been pressured all our lives, we've been exploited all our lives, we don't want to live anymore, we want to live in justice," Tsivilev quoted the source as saying.
The Minister stressed that the principle of energy equity should become a basic one not only in the energy sector, but also in other areas of cooperation between the parties. According to the Minister, it is for this reason that the Russian Federation advocates the formation of a multipolar world.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 28 that a multipolar world is becoming a reality, and this is an irreversible trend. The Russian leader drew attention to the fact that a more just world is replacing an era when the fate of entire continents was determined by a "narrow bloc of states."
