In the German city of Neustadt am Rubenberg in Lower Saxony, a BMW driver deliberately drove into a group of people, resulting in several injuries. This was reported on October 27 by NDR TV and radio company with reference to the police.

"The circumstances of the incident and the exact degree of involvement of the participants are still the subject of investigation," a police spokesman said.

The incident occurred on Mecklenhorster Strasse. According to preliminary data, the driver purposefully directed the car at a small group of people. As a result, four to five people were allegedly injured, four were taken to hospitals with injuries of varying severity. There is no threat to their lives.

Police officers were checking vehicles near the scene, so they quickly responded to the incident. To stop the car, law enforcement officers opened fire on it, but the suspect managed to escape.

The car was later found abandoned. It is assumed that the driver left the scene on foot. A helicopter and a service dog were used to search for him, but it has not yet been possible to locate the suspect.

Investigators suggest that the parties to the conflict may have known each other. The police believe that the hit-and-run was directed against a specific group of people, and not bystanders.

After the incident, law enforcement officers cordoned off the scene of the incident to collect evidence. Traffic on several surrounding streets was also temporarily restricted.

Two people died on October 17 as a result of a car driving into a crowd of fans during a football match in Wichita, Kansas. It is known that one of the victims is a child. Several people were also injured.
