In Russia, 31.4 million people have been vaccinated against influenza.
Over 31.4 million people have been vaccinated against influenza as part of the All-Russian vaccination campaign. This was reported on October 27 in Rospotrebnadzor.
"The flu vaccination campaign continues in the regions of Russia. To date, more than 31.4 million citizens have been vaccinated," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, more than 614 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and COVID-19 have been registered in the country, while the incidence of influenza continues to increase. The structure of circulating respiratory viruses is dominated by pathogens of non—influenza etiology - 95.2%. Rhinoviruses account for 44.6%, parainfluenza — 17%. The proportion of influenza viruses was 4.8%.
The ministry recalled that vaccination is especially important for people from risk groups — those who often suffer from acute respiratory viral infections, patients with chronic lung diseases, cardiovascular system, metabolic disorders and obesity, as well as for young children, the elderly and pregnant women.
During the seasonal rise in the incidence of influenza and SARS, it is recommended to follow general preventive measures: wash your hands with soap more often, avoid visiting crowded places and mass events if possible, and use protective medical masks, especially in places with an increased risk of infection. If you experience any symptoms of a respiratory illness, you should stay at home and seek medical help.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced on September 24 that the peak incidence of influenza in Russia in the current epidemiological season is expected during the New Year holidays. According to her, the increase in infection activity traditionally continues in mid-January. It was clarified that the dates may shift slightly to the last decade of December, depending on the types of virus circulating. Popova also called for vaccination in advance, so that immunity could be formed by the beginning of the rise in the incidence.
