A court in Ukraine has reduced the bail of Yulia Tymoshenko, the head of the Batkivshchyna party, from 33 million hryvnias to 266 thousand hryvnias. This was reported by the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper on October 26.

"The Supreme Anti—Corruption Court has reduced the bail for the leader of the Batkivshchyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko from 33.28 million to 266.24 thousand hryvnias," the article says.

The judge granted her petition in this part. The funds deposited earlier will be returned to the people who provided the deposit.

On January 14, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) released audio footage of Tymoshenko's negotiations on bribing deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, where she offers them money for a "correct" vote. The bureau also showed footage of the head of Batkivshchyna during searches of the party's office.

On the same day, Tymoshenko wrote on social media that she had nothing to do with the audio recordings of her voice published by NABU. Later, her accounts were blocked pending a court decision. The party leader then stated that she would not be able to post bail for her arrest.
