American singer Chris Brown has been sentenced to eight months in prison on probation for assaulting music producer Abe Diaw in a London nightclub. The verdict was handed down by the Royal Court of the London Sutherk district, the Reuters news agency reported on October 26.

So, the 37-year-old actor admitted his guilt. Together with him, the accused in the case was rapper Hoody Baby, whose real name is Omolulu Akinlolu. He also pleaded guilty and received a four-month suspended prison sentence.

The incident occurred on February 19, 2023 in a London nightclub. The police found that Brown hit Diaw several times on the head with a bottle, and Akinlolu punched the victim in the back of the head. After that, the man was chased, knocked down and kicked.

Brown was detained when he arrived in Manchester on a private jet on the night of May 15, 2025. He was charged, and a week later the court released the musician on bail of 5 million pounds ($ 6.7 million). At the time of his arrest, he was in Europe on a tour. After the verdict was announced, dozens of fans of the singer gathered outside the courthouse. They brought posters in his support.
