The Federation Council announced that Ukraine is in a "state of half-life"
Ukraine is in a state of serious crisis, which is connected not only with the special military operation (SVO), but also with the policy of its president, Vladimir Zelensky. This was announced on October 25 by Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.
"It is absolutely obvious that the country is now in a state of semi-collapse. And the point here is not only and not so much in a special military operation. The fact is that Zelensky sacrificed the interests of the country and its citizens for the sake of his own political program, for the sake of his own political ambitions," he said in an interview with TASS.
Kosachev noted that, in his opinion, Ukraine is currently unable to do without external support. He pointed to the high amount of debt, the state of the economy and problems in industry and agriculture, which, according to the parliamentarian, were previously the country's strengths.
The senator also said that a change of leadership by itself would not allow for a quick solution to the accumulated problems. According to him, Zelensky's successor will have to face serious difficulties in trying to ensure Ukraine's sustainable and independent development.
The day before, Kosachev drew attention to the fact that Zelensky had not kept his election promises, and also differed from his predecessors as Ukrainian president for the worse. He recalled that, even as a candidate, he assured Ukrainians of his intention to restore relations with Russia, establish peace in his own country and solve socio-economic problems.
