Two tourists fell from a height of about 80 m in the area of the Sakhraisk waterfalls in the Republic of Adygea. As a result of the incident, one person was killed. This was announced on October 24 in the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

It is specified that the incident occurred in the Maikop district. After receiving a message about the fall of tourists, employees of the Adygea Search and Rescue squad of the Russian Emergencies Ministry named after A.M. Noskov were immediately sent to the scene.

Currently, rescuers are using a rope to lift a second tourist from the canyon of the river. Information about his condition has not yet been provided.

"The rescue operation continues," the channel of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Maks messenger says.

In September, the disappearance of tourists in the mountains of Kabardino-Balkaria was reported. A group of two professional guides followed a difficult route and climbed Mount Dykhtau, the second largest peak in the country after Elbrus. Two days later, the bodies of the climbers were found. They reached a height of 3.5 thousand meters on Mount Dykhtau, after which communication with them was interrupted.
