A mass student rally was held in the center of Belgrade on the eve of the early parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The October 22 footage is published by Izvestia.

"We know who we will answer to! The mandate belongs to all of you — the people! Serbia is winning because the students are winning," said Professor Ilija Srdanovic, who heads the Students are Winning electoral list, quoted by the N1 portal.

The published footage shows that the protesters are calmly standing on the square, smiling and singing along to the rock band. A man with a portrait of revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara is also visible among the audience.

According to the N1 portal, the event on Slavia Square was the final stage of the election campaign of the "Students Win" list. Before Srdanovic's speech, the organizers set off fireworks, and the number three was highlighted on the facades of the surrounding buildings using projectors. The participants of the rally chanted slogans, including calls for victory.

During his speech, Srdanovich stressed that the deputy position implies responsibility to the citizens. According to him, the elected representatives should remember that the mandates they have received belong to the people.

Arsa Stoyanovich, a student of the Faculty of Biology, also spoke at the rally. He noted that during their campaign, the participants of the student movement visited many settlements in Serbia and were able to enlist the support of citizens. In his opinion, the country must overcome fear and achieve liberation.

In turn, candidate Yugoslav Hasic stated the need to preserve the territorial integrity of Serbia and protect the rights of the Serbian people. He also called for the support of Republika Srpska and the preservation of its powers.

Alexa Kresojevic, a student from Republika Srpska, stressed the unity of the Serbian people and the inadmissibility of their division. He called Serbia a common homeland, and Belgrade a home for all Serbs.

At the end of the event, supporters of the student list performed the traditional Serbian kolo dance. The organizers thanked the audience for their support, after which the participants gradually began to disperse. At the same time, a large number of people continued to remain on Slavia Square and the surrounding streets.

On October 20, former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced his intention to lead the country's government by winning the parliamentary elections. Vucic also stressed that he had already held this post during the most difficult reforms. When asked if he would be able to return to the prime minister's chair now, the politician said: "We'll see."
