- The Ministry of Education approved the rules for assessing the behavior of schoolchildren
The Russian Ministry of Education has established a procedure for assessing the behavior of schoolchildren during the testing of the new system in the 2026/27 academic year. This is stated in a letter from the department, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on October 21.
Students from the second to the eighth grade participate in the experiment, and at least 10 educational organizations have been selected for its implementation in each region. The assessment based on the results of the quarter or trimester and the school year will be made by the homeroom teacher.
When making a decision, he must take into account not only his own observations, but also the comments of other teachers. Information from speech pathologists and speech therapists, educational psychologists, social educators, advisers to the director of education and the school administration may also be taken into account.
There are three levels for assessment: "exemplary behavior", "acceptable behavior" and "unacceptable behavior". The system includes four main criteria — discipline, compliance with the rules of interaction with other students and adults, as well as lawful behavior.
Since September 1, behavior assessment has been introduced in Russian schools for students from the second to the eighth grade. Last academic year, the system was already tested in 89 schools in different regions of the Russian Federation. Igor Murog, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, announced on October 19 that the system for assessing the behavior of Russian schoolchildren would be finalized: a unified approach to recording extracurricular achievements would be developed in order to equalize the opportunities of students from urban and rural schools.
