US authorities have ordered civilian agencies to remove DeepSeek
The American authorities have ordered civil authorities to remove the Chinese artificial intelligence service DeepSeek from their information systems and banned the purchase of products and services of the company. This is stated in the notification of the US Department of Homeland Security.
"The Minister of Internal Security has issued an order providing for the removal of all DeepSeek products and affiliated organizations from the information systems of civilian agencies," the Reuters news agency reported.
In addition, U.S. civilian agencies are prohibited from purchasing products and services from Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on June 16 that the Chinese company DeepSeek has become the most expensive startup in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in the country after attracting $7.4 billion in investments. Now its value is estimated at $50 billion. According to the newspaper's sources, the company's founder, Liang Wenfeng, owned almost 90% of DeepSeek's shares before the financing round. As part of the deal, he invested about $3 billion, which was the largest investment among the participants in the round.
