Businessman-developer Sergey Ivantsov could not have been involved in the torture of children. Alexander Makarov, the godfather of Ivantsov's daughter, told Izvestia on October 19.

"He is a calm person himself, not nervous, already aged. A decent man, very kind, as far as I know, to children. This is some kind of slander, it's so dirty," Makarov said.

Besides, according to the man, Ivantsov is seriously ill. Therefore, Makarov doubts his involvement in bullying children.

"I think he's very ill right now, as far as I know. The last time I talked to him, his tone was very painful, he talked very quietly," the source told Izvestia.

Makarov clarified that he hardly communicates with Ivantsov's family, now they only occasionally call each other. They mostly wish each other happy holidays. His opinion of the man is based on previous communication experience. About 16-17 years ago, Makarov became the godfather of his daughter, who, according to his information, is currently studying at a music school.

Tatiana Tretyak, the wife of Soviet athlete Vladislav Tretyak, also commented on what was happening in Ivantsov's house. The couple are also godparents of one of the businessman's children. According to them, the children never complained about the atmosphere in the family.

"He always seems to pay attention to him. I don't know how the babysitter was kept, I can't even say anything. I've never heard any complaints," the woman said.

Tretyak's wife noted that the businessman had always been proud of the children and their successes, so the footage she saw came as a surprise to her. She admitted that she did not understand why he could allow such a thing.

On the same day, a source from Izvestia reported that the Investigative Committee (IC) of Moscow had launched an investigation into the article on non-fulfillment of parental responsibilities for raising children (Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) after reports of bullying suspected by Ivantsov. Izvestia learned on the same day that Ivantsov's family members had accused him of child abuse.

The footage from the surveillance cameras shows how the assistant of the developer, Tatiana Khlystova, also takes part in the torture. She makes children stand on their fists and knees on buckwheat, do push-ups and get up after falls.
