President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has gained loans and foreign aid, thereby increasing the debt burden on the country. This was announced on October 19 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

"By gaining loans and foreign aid — and free cheese, as you know, only happens in a mousetrap — Zelensky tightened the noose around the neck of the Ukrainian people," he wrote on the Maks messenger.

According to Volodin, Ukraine's budget deficit is $41.5 billion, or 40% of planned expenditures, and the national debt is close to 100% of GDP. He added that he noted that many future generations of Ukrainians will have to pay off debts.

On October 19, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine announced that the country will have to pay $94.725 billion to repay and service its external public debt over the next 10 years. According to the schedule, by the end of 2037, the repayment of the principal amount of the external public debt will amount to $66.616 billion.
