The situation in the area of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and Energodar remains tense due to the continued activity of drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), despite the current regime of silence around the Zaporizhia thermal power plant. This was announced on October 18 by Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at ZAES.

"As for drone activity, unfortunately, I have to state that the situation in the area of the station and the satellite city of Energodar remains tense. The activity of unmanned aerial vehicles remains," Yashina said in an interview with TASS.

She added that the situation at the station itself also remains tense, but under control. The employees of the NPP monitor all security parameters around the clock.

The mayor of Energodar, Maxim Pukhov, reported on October 13 that three local civilians were injured by Ukrainian artillery strikes near the ZAES sports complex. He clarified that the victims have shrapnel wounds, acupressure and broken bones, but they are receiving medical care.
