Trump called future decisions on sanctions against Russia useful for the whole world.
US President Donald Trump has said he intends to make a decision on anti-Russian sanctions that will benefit not only the United States, but the entire world. He told reporters about this on October 17 at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, his words were quoted by the Reuters news agency.
"Many of you don't know what my decision is yet, but we'll figure it out, and you'll find out. This is a very good decision, it will be a decision that will benefit the country and, I think, the world," the American leader said.
He stressed that we are talking about something that affects the entire planet in one way or another.
On October 17, the White House explained that the United States refuses to apply new sanctions measures against Russia, as this could interfere with negotiations on a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
On the same day, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky suggested that the lifting of sanctions against Russia would continue. He noted that Russia "cannot be stopped" in this way after its support by Trump.
On October 16, Trump announced that he did not intend to impose a number of sanctions provided for in the draft law on tightening restrictive measures against the Russian Federation. He also refused to apply a number of duties in the amount of 100% or 500% and sanctions against countries that buy energy resources from the Russian Federation.
