In Florida, the second fatal case of an alligator attack was recorded in a year.
In Florida, a 71-year-old man died as a result of an alligator attack while fishing. This is the second fatal case of its kind in the state since the beginning of the year, ABC News reported on October 17.
The predator's victim was Stephen Hamilton, who was fishing on the shores of Lake Apopka, 24 km from Orlando. The man was attacked by an alligator about 3.5 m long. The incident occurred on Friday evening.
The presence of other alligators in the water made the rescue operation difficult. The body of the deceased was recovered about two hours after the attack.
According to the Florida authorities, 34 people have died in alligator attacks in the state since 1948.
In the Republic of South Africa (South Africa), a huge crocodile was shot in May, and human remains were later found in its stomach. The animal was 4.5 m long and weighed 500 kg. Fragments of a human body, as well as six shoes and beach slippers, were found in the crocodile's digestive system.
