Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev returned to Russia after completing the Crew-12 mission
Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev returned to Russia after an expedition to the International Space Station (ISS). A member of the Crew-12 mission was welcomed at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. The October 17 footage was shown by Izvestia.
During the flight, Fedyaev conducted scientific experiments and worked with the European Era robotic arm. According to him, during the mission, for the first time, it was possible to move two astronauts using this system at once.
"The usual tasks are various scientific experiments. My tasks also included working with the Era robotic arm. It can even be noted that for the first time in the history of mankind, two astronauts were moved at once on this manipulator," the cosmonaut shared his experience.
Fedyaev also said that the crew prepared desserts from improvised products in honor of the round dates of stay at the station — 100, 200, 300 and 400 days.
The SpaceX spacecraft crewed by Crew-12, which included a Russian cosmonaut, undocked from the ISS on October 7. The expedition members have been at the station since mid-February.
A day earlier, Roscosmos cosmonaut Ivan Wagner said that during sleep, astronauts on the ISS use headphones with active noise cancellation due to the constant noise of operating systems. He also noted that thanks to the sleeping bags, the limbs do not go numb and the body is in a comfortable position. At the same time, the quality of sleep depends on the individual characteristics of a person.
