British fighter jets twice encountered unidentified objects over the North Sea
British military aircraft twice approached unidentified objects during exercises over the North Sea. In one case, the object flew about 30-45 m above a tanker aircraft, and in the other, 90 m above a Typhoon fighter jet. This was reported on October 16 by The Telegraph newspaper.
"This year, Royal Air Force planes collided with two unidentified drones in the British sky. The clashes occurred several days apart during exercises to simulate aerial combat and aerial refueling over the North Sea," the publication says.
The first incident occurred during the refueling of a Typhoon fighter jet by an Airbus Voyager aircraft off the coast of Norfolk County. The tanker pilot noticed a small black round object at an altitude of about 5.2 km. According to him, it flew so close that he instinctively ducked. During the second incident, the Typhoon pilot saw a similar object the size of a car tire at an altitude of about 3.8 km.
In both cases, the objects did not show up on the radars. There is no evidence that the objects belonged to foreign countries or were used for intelligence purposes. At the same time, their height significantly exceeded the limit of 122 m set for conventional civilian drones.
Fragments of an unidentified flying object were found on a Baltic Sea beach in Poland on October 14. The length of the find is about 2 m. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the military gendarmerie of the republic under the supervision of the prosecutor of the Military Affairs department of the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdansk. The sappers, the military, the internal security agency and the military intelligence service were notified of the incident.
