The number of sports medicine doctors in the Russian state healthcare system is planned to almost double to 2.5 thousand people by 2036, it became known on October 17. This is provided for by the strategy for the development of sports medicine in the country until 2030 and for the future until 2036.

"Expected results of the strategy's implementation: at least 2,500 sports medicine doctors work in the public health system," the document says.

Currently, 1,328 such specialists work in Russia. In addition, it is planned to improve the qualifications of at least 5,000 people in anti-doping in sports. We intend to organize scientific and analytical support for medical and biological support for at least 2 thousand high-class athletes.
