A wildfire in Orange County in southern California spread to about 188 hectares in three hours. The fire damaged or destroyed at least six residential buildings, there are victims. This was reported on October 16 by the New York Post (NYP) newspaper with reference to the local fire department.

"A wildfire broke out in Orange County, forcing the evacuation of residents, as several houses burned down and dozens of others were threatened. <...> Later, the Orange County Fire Department confirmed that six houses were damaged or destroyed as a result of the fire," the publication said.

Residents of nearby areas are being evacuated. Firefighters are trying to stop the spread of fire from the ground and air, but the strong hot winds of Santa Ana complicate the fight against the fire.

The published footage shows thick black clouds of smoke that cover a significant part of the surrounding area.

A fire in the Santa Clarita area of Los Angeles County, as reported on October 11, led to the evacuation of nearby residents. It was clarified that in the Santa Clarita Valley, the second large-scale bushfire has already occurred in the last two weeks.
