Independent economist Viktor Mangazeev said that checking the deductions is the first step towards legitimate tax savings.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Thursday, October 15, the expert recalled that the costs of medical treatment, education and sports allow you to return part of the personal income tax paid. The total limit for most social deductions is 150 thousand rubles per year, which, at a rate of 13%, allows you to get up to 19.5 thousand rubles.

Children's education is accounted for separately — up to 110 thousand rubles per child for both parents, and expensive treatment is not limited by the general limit. At the same time, sports services must comply with the requirements established by law.

When buying real estate, you can apply for a property deduction from expenses up to 2 million rubles and additionally from mortgage interest up to 3 million rubles. At a rate of 13%, the maximum refund is 260 and 390 thousand rubles, respectively. The unused balance of the deduction can be carried over to the following years.

Mangazeev also advised taking into account the minimum period of ownership of real estate when selling — usually five years, in some cases three years. If the deadline has not expired, it is worth comparing the standard deduction with a reduction in income for confirmed purchase expenses.

The expert recommended saving payment documents and checking the personal account of the Federal Tax Service, where some deductions can be made in a simplified manner.

State Duma deputy Alexei Govyrin, in an interview with RT on October 15, said that a tax deduction can be obtained for studying at a driving school.

In September, Magomed Gamzaev, director of financial product development at Compare, told Izvestia that the bulk of the financial cushion for ruble expenses should be stored in rubles, and the currency should be bought gradually and left for specific future expenses.

At the end of August, Senator Igor Murog reminded that Russians who pay personal income tax can return part of the funds spent on education. We are talking about a social tax deduction, according to 360.ru .
