American rapper and producer Sean Combs, known under the pseudonym P. Diddy, became a participant in a fight at the federal correctional Center in Brooklyn. According to reports, the second participant in the conflict is Jamaican drug lord Christopher Coke, nicknamed "Dudus", who was unhappy with the frequent camera checks due to the news about the privileged position of the rapper, writes TMZ.

The reason for the fight

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 10, at the New York detention center, where Combs is awaiting trial. According to Page Six, citing anonymous sources, the alleged conflict could have been provoked by the discontent of other prisoners. The reason for the aggression against the artist was the increased searches and seizure of contraband mobile phones. Increased security control occurred after media reports describing Combs' "luxurious life" behind bars. At the same time, the rapper was transferred to an isolation ward.

A representative of Sean Combs, in an interview with reporters, noted that the defense currently has no way to independently confirm the fact of a physical collision. At the same time, he expressed serious concern about the artist's health.

"We have no way to independently confirm the fact of the fight, but we are extremely concerned about the state of health of Mr. Combs," the representative said.

Consequences of the conflict

The prison administration has not yet provided official comments on the incident and possible disciplinary measures against the artist. At the same time, the federal correctional center MDC Brooklyn, where Sean Combs is being held, has a reputation for extremely difficult conditions. According to The Independent newspaper, the prison is known for chronic staff shortages, unsanitary conditions and high levels of violence. In the summer of 2024, several murders of prisoners were recorded in this detention center.

The P. Diddy case

The musician was charged with trafficking in persons for sexual exploitation, as well as organizing criminal activities and transporting persons for prostitution. In October 2025, a court in New York sentenced the rapper to more than four years in prison. The musician's defense asked for 14 months in prison, while the prosecutor's office insisted on more than 11 years in prison. In July of the same year, the jury found that he was innocent of the more serious crimes that threatened him with life imprisonment — extortion and human trafficking. Initially, the release date was set for May 8, 2028, but later it was shortened: the rapper is due to be released on February 23, 2028, People magazine reported, citing the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
