On October 14, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) determined the number of quotas for Russian athletes for the World Cup races in the 2026/27 season, allocating the maximum number of places to athletes.

"In the 2026/27 season, neutral athletes from Russia will have the same number of quotas as they had in the 2021/22 season," Sport-Express quoted the FIS press service as saying.

Russian athletes are provided with 12 quotas in men's and women's competitions. Thus, six athletes of each gender can participate in each World Cup race. In addition, 16 quotas have been allocated for staff. To date, Savely Korostelev, Daria Nepryaeva, Sergey Volkov, Nikita Denisov, Ksenia Shorokhova and Arina Kalicheva have received neutral status.

Korostelev announced on October 4 that this year the FIS has relaxed the criteria for Russian athletes, which gives reason to expect approval of applications from other representatives of the national team. The Russian noted that last season he had already received permission to perform from the international federation.

On September 24, the international organization updated the rules for obtaining neutral status for the 2026/27 season, relaxing the requirements for athletes from Russia and Belarus to communicate with army structures.
