A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces in the Kharkiv region are compressing the encirclement ring and expanding the external control zone. The fighting for Nikolaevka and Varvarovka continues in the encirclement. The losses of the encircled group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the day amounted to 40 soldiers. During the expansion of the external control zone, the battles for Prikolotnoye, Kotovka and Gogino continue. The manpower and equipment of the heavy mechanized brigade, the assault regiment and the border guard were defeated in the areas of Kurgan, Fedorovka, Maly Burluk and Khatneye.

Also in the Kharkiv region, the manpower and equipment of a mechanized, two motorized infantry brigades and an assault regiment were affected in the areas of Rubezhny, Velikiye Prokhody, Bugaevka, Izbitsky and Veliky Burluk. In the Sumy region, formations of mechanized, airmobile brigades and two territorial defense brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Velikaya Rybitsa, Nikolskoye, Barilovka, Kucherovka, Glukhov and Sumy. In total, the enemy lost over 225 soldiers, 17 vehicles, a BM-21 Grad MLRS combat vehicle and four electronic warfare stations in the North group of forces' area of responsibility.

The fighters of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front line and defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized, assault brigades and two territorial defense brigades in the areas of Tamarganovka, Bogorodichny, Volchiy Yar, Blagodatovka, Maleevka and Osinovo. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 240 military personnel, five armored combat vehicles, 23 vehicles, an artillery piece and two electronic warfare stations.

The military personnel of the Center group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of two mechanized, airborne brigades, a marine brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of Krutoyarovka, Starovarvarovka, Verovka, Belozersky, Svyatogorovka, Veselaya Gora, Shilovka and Novoyavlenka.

In Dobropillya, the assault groups of the 51st Army advanced in the central and northwestern parts of the city. The assault units of the Marine corps group continued their offensive in the western part of the settlement. During the day, 142 buildings were liberated, and up to 25 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Center group of forces, the losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 350 soldiers, an armored personnel carrier and five armored combat vehicles, 14 vehicles, an artillery piece and two electronic warfare stations.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. Mechanized personnel and equipment, two amphibious assault brigades, two marine brigades and two assault regiments were defeated in the areas of Raysky, Tarasovka, Kolomiytsev, Chernenkovo, Mirolyubovka, Barvinovka, Omelnik and Volnyanka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 265 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles, nine vehicles, a field artillery piece and an electronic warfare station.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Russian Armed Forces defeated workshops for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles and their storage sites, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 146 districts. 1,425 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 674 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 262,128 unmanned aerial vehicles, 672 anti-aircraft missile systems, 31,231 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,788 multiple rocket launchers, 36,725 field artillery guns and mortars, 74,517 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
