Cosmonaut Tikhonov called "Apollo 13" the most authentic film about space.
On October 10, Russian test cosmonaut Nikolai Tikhonov called director Ron Howard's film "Apollo 13" the most authentic work about space travel.
"The most reliable film is Apollo 13," RIA Novosti quoted the cosmonaut as saying.
The American drama "Apollo 13" was released in 1995. The plot is based on the true story of the 1970 lunar mission of the same name. Then, due to an accident on board, the crew under the command of James Lovell, played by Tom Hanks, was forced to cancel the moon landing and fight to return to Earth.
Speaking about Soviet cinema, Tikhonov highlighted the film "The Taming of Fire." The film is dedicated to the history of the formation of the rocket and space industry in the USSR. According to the cosmonaut, the authors managed to reflect the scale of these events.
"There are a few embellished situations, yes, a little fantasy, but overall a very good, powerful film," Tikhonov emphasized.
The first Chinese film shot in space was shown in Moscow on June 25. The documentary was called "The Blue Planet outside the window." It is based on footage taken by the crew of the Shenzhou-13 spacecraft, which spent six months working in orbit. They also recorded in detail the daily life of the Tiangong station.
