Flowers for Teacher's Day in 2026 will cost at least 4 thousand rubles, Izvestia was informed in online stores. Monobooks are most often used. Demand has also increased for composite compositions of several plants, as well as for stabilized flowers, dried flowers and edible bouquets. Sweets, teas, creative kits, postcards, and shaped chocolates are popular among the gifts. According to experts, this year schoolchildren and their parents are not saving, increasingly purchasing gifts in advance and in an organized manner. What other options are chosen for congratulating teachers and how much can be spent on such a gift according to the law — in the Izvestia material.

How to prepare for Teacher's Day

Flowers remain the main gift for teachers, Izvestia was told in online stores. Russians are more likely to choose monobooks made of roses, chrysanthemums, dianthuses and alstroemeria, added Polina Voronina, director of b2b marketing at the Flowau flower and gift marketplace.

Those who prepare for the holiday in advance are willing to spend more: buying a monobook to order costs an average of 5.3 thousand rubles, and an author's composition costs 5.2 thousand rubles," she noted.

— This year, we see a 5% increase in demand for composite compositions from several plants. Their cost increased by 10% over the year, to almost 4 thousand rubles. The number of orders is increasing daily and will peak on the eve of the holiday.

According to the OFD Platform, Russians have become more likely to purchase flowers, sweets and gift certificates. 4.3 thousand rubles were paid for the bouquet, which is 9% more than a year earlier. On the Internet, the amount was even higher — 5.5 thousand rubles, which is 12% higher than last year's figure.

"A box of chocolates has gone up in price by 10%, to 585 rubles. At the same time, the number of purchases increased by 7%, the analysts noted. — Gift certificates have increased in price by 8%, up to 2.3 thousand rubles. They have become 6% more active in purchasing them."

Gifts and flower arrangements are now often ordered in advance and together — for example, by agreement between initiative groups of parents in classrooms, experts from the Check Index of the OFD Platform pointed out.

"Despite the price changes, this year students and their parents are not skimping on gifts and bouquets for teachers," they added.

Before the holiday, Fix Price notes an increased interest in inexpensive official gifts. Sales of key categories related to gifts and seasonal decorations increased by 52% year-on-year.

"The largest growth is shown by sets of chocolates — 20%. Interest in glass vases and salad bowls increased by 5%, the analysts said. — Teachers also often get creative kits.: paintings by numbers and diamond embroidery. We expect increased interest in gift packages."

Wildberries & Russ also recorded a surge of interest in everything that is usually given to teachers. In the second half of September, the turnover of such goods increased significantly compared to the first half of the month. Postcards were especially sharply increased — they were bought almost six times more. Coffee, sweets and tea were among the most popular categories: their sales increased by 15-35%.

"Sales of gift sets of products have almost doubled in physical terms," they said. — Diaries are probably often given away as well: their sales increased by 72%. The turnover of curly chocolate increased by a quarter. Sales of stabilized flowers also increased by 26%, and dried flowers by 43%. But edible bouquets have become the leader: their sales have jumped by 70%."

According to Avito Goods and Avito Advertising, when choosing a gift, Russians most often consider universal options. They are ready to spend about 1.4 thousand rubles per teacher. A quarter of the respondents plan to meet 2-3 thousand rubles, another 23% — 500 rubles – 1 thousand rubles, and 22% — in the range from 1 thousand to 2 thousand rubles.

What is the best gift

This year, the main trend for Teacher's Day is not expensive and formal gifts, but tactful, practical and personalized tokens of attention, said Alexander Shkarupa, brand director and founder of the Dynamics event agency.

"Collective formats work best: flowers, a small gift certificate, tea, coffee or sweets, and a postcard with wishes from children," he said. — The average class budget for a gift to the homeroom teacher is about 4.5 thousand rubles, while flowers and certificates remain the most common options.

A good alternative to material tokens of attention, according to him, can be a joint trip of the class with the teacher to the theater, philharmonic, museum, exhibition or concert. This format allows you to congratulate the teacher without focusing on the cost of the gift, as well as spend time together. However, it is important to discuss the idea with the teacher in advance: he may have a busy schedule, and for the class you need to choose an event that will really be interesting to children.

— The certificate is convenient because the teacher will be able to choose the right thing on his own, — the expert added. — Universal options are considered a bookstore, marketplace, household goods or cosmetics. If the teacher's tastes are well known, you can add a book, good tea or coffee to the greeting. At the same time, it is better to exclude too personal items such as perfumes, clothes, jewelry or care cosmetics: they require precise knowledge of preferences and may be inappropriate.

Alexander Shkarupa separately noted the gifts in which children put their own ideas and efforts. It can be a photo book, an album with drawings and wishes, a video with short congratulations from students, or a shared Telegram post with a photo of the class. Such options do not require large expenses, but they help to express gratitude and are often remembered better than standard purchase gifts.

— Money in an envelope and expensive items should be discarded: they can put the teacher in an awkward position and be perceived ambiguously," he stressed.

Ekaterina Kosareva, managing partner of the VMT Consult agency, recalled that the cost of a gift to a teacher is limited to 3 thousand rubles. This rule is enshrined in article 575 of the Civil Code.

"Article 575 covers any valuables and possessions, including flowers, sweets and other tokens of attention," she said. — However, in practice, such gifts, as a rule, do not become the subject of law enforcement disputes due to their low cost and obvious domestic nature.

According to experts, the main thing is not the price, but attention and gratitude. A suitable option may be a bouquet or a certificate within the set amount, supplemented with a postcard, children's wishes or a small collective video.
